Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released on the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The singer continued uploading her music on the internet in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released from Sweat It Out, on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. After that, in the course of the season, the music circulated through Dreamville. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she debuted her first EP named Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was featured as a guest artist on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles: No One or Pedigree. They then collaborated in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track called Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26th, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. A music video was released on the 20th of February to go along with the track. Within one week, it was watched by more than 3,000,000 people. She was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
